How This Idea Began
To be honest, it wasn't part of a grand business plan.
It started with a simple thought that crossed my mind one day.
"Why doesn't anyone create a planner based on the Hijri calendar? Why isn't it something we use every day?"
The more I thought about it, the more the idea stayed with me.
Then another thought came.
What if we planned everything around the Hijri calendar?
What if our goals, routines, projects, and even our family plans were guided by the Islamic year instead of only the Gregorian calendar?
Would we become more aware of the blessed months?
Would we prepare for Ramadan instead of rushing into it?
Would we remember the White Days, Ashura, the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah, and other opportunities for worship more often?
I realised that when something becomes part of your daily routine, you're far less likely to forget it.
If the Hijri calendar was the calendar we looked at every single day, perhaps we'd naturally become more mindful of the opportunities Allah places throughout the year—not because someone reminded us, but because our planner reminded us to prepare.
Of course, a planner doesn't guarantee that we'll seize every opportunity. But it can help us become more aware, more intentional, and less likely to let those precious moments pass by unnoticed.
That was the moment I thought,
"Why not give it a try?"
That simple question became the beginning of the FINITE Planner.
I don't know if it will change the world.
But if it helps even one person become more mindful of the Islamic year, prepare for worship with intention, and live a little closer to Allah, then I believe it was worth creating.
I'd Love to Hear From You
This planner is only the beginning.
If you decide to use it, I'd genuinely love to hear about your experience. Tell me what works, what doesn't, and what could be improved. Your feedback will help shape future versions of the FINITE Planner and other tools we're building for the Muslim community.
Perhaps this idea isn't entirely new to some people. If that's the case, I'd love to learn from you too.
But to me, it was a new way of thinking. And maybe there are others out there who have never thought about planning their lives around the Hijri calendar either.
So why not give it a try?
